Jonathan Den Hartog is an American historian, with a focus on the American Revolution and New Nation. He is the author of Patriotism and Piety: Federalist Politics and Religious Struggle in the New American Nation and co-editor of the volume Disestablishment and Religious Dissent: Church-State Relations in the American States, 1776-1833 He is currently professor of history and Chair of the history department at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama.
